JOURNAL OF ASIAN CASES IN MANAGEMENT

Exploring Real-World Business Insights from Across Asia

Editorial Person

From the Editorial Desk

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Journal of Asian Cases in Management (JACM).

As Asia continues to assert itself as a central force in the global economy, the importance of context-specific management knowledge has never been more critical. As the region experiences rapid economic shifts, digital transformation, and increasing global integration, managers are required to navigate complexity in ways that are often very different from Western models. At JACM, we believe that learning from Asia through Asia is essential. This journal seeks to illuminate the unique challenges and opportunities faced by organizations operating within the diverse cultural, institutional, and regulatory landscapes of Asia.

In this issue, we present a curated selection of compelling case studies that span industries, sectors, and countries across the Asian region. Each case is more than a story, it is a carefully constructed learning tool that invites critical thinking, strategic analysis, and reflective dialogue. The authors have contributed deep insights into real managerial dilemmas and decision-making processes, supported by rigorous academic review and grounded in practical relevance.

At JACM, we believe that management education and research must evolve to reflect the lived realities of the environments they seek to understand. Through this platform, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the development of a distinctly Asian body of knowledge in management, one that complements global discourse while offering its own unique perspectives.

We thank our contributors, reviewers, and readers for their continued support. Your engagement ensures that JACM remains a vital resource for educators, students, and professionals alike.

Warm regards,

Peer Review Process

  1. The corresponding or submitting author must submit the article via the *JACM website* at [https://jacm.aeu.edu.my](https://jacm.aeu.edu.my). Authors are required to register before submitting their manuscripts.
  2. Prioir to submission, authors must ensure that their manuscripts comply with the *submission guidelines* outlined on the journal’s website. This includes removing the authors’ names and affiliations from the manuscript to facilitate the *double-blind review process*.
  3. The *Managing Editor* will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the submission is appropriate for the journal and whether it demonstrates sufficient originality and relevance. Articles that do not meet these criteria may be *desk-rejected* without further review.
  4. The *Chief Editor* will invite two suitable reviewers based on their expertise via email. As JACM uses a *double-blind review system*, the Chief Editor must ensure that all author-identifying information has been removed from the manuscript. Potential reviewers are typically given one to two weeks to respond to the invitation. If a reviewer declines, the Handling Editor will invite an alternative reviewer, and the process will continue until two reviewers are confirmed.
  5. Once reviewers accept the invitation, they are allocated a specified period to complete the review. Reviewers are required to complete the *Reviewer’s Evaluation Form* and submit their recommendations—accept, reject, or request revision (major or minor)—through the journal’s system.
  6. The *Chief Editor* considers all returned reviews before making a final recommendation. If the reviewers’ opinions differ significantly, an additional reviewer may be invited to provide an independent assessment before a final decision is made.
  7. The author will be notified of the editorial decision via email.
  8. If the article is *accepted, it will proceed to the **production stage. If it is **rejected* or requires *revision*, the Chief Editor will provide the reviewers’ constructive comments to assist the author in improving the manuscript. The anonymity of reviewers must be maintained throughout the process.
  9. If the article requires *revision*, the author is expected to submit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. Upon resubmission, the editors will reassess the paper and make a final decision regarding its publication.
